Apparently former state representative and local caniphile John Ahern was at it again on Monday night, this time at the Spokane City Council meeting. According to The Inlander, Ahern and fellow members of the tinfoil hat brigade expressed their profound concerns that the United Nations was unduly influencing the proposed Sustainability Action Plan (Story: "World Domination," The Inlander). This plan, naturally, is just another small step in the United Nation's nefarious, super-duper secret plot to become the one-world government that will enslave us all and force us to share things and stuff.
But, really, what else could be so wrong with a sustainability plan? Having not yet fully read the plan, I cannot say with any certainty whether or not it requires citizens to greet each other each December by saying "Happy Holidays," nor can I say whether or not the measure addresses teenage infanticide or man-dog love, issues near and dear to Mr. Ahern's, er, heart.
(Perhaps the least surprising note in the article was that Ahern found some support on the council from conservative kook Nancy McLaughlin and Bob Apple, a man who knows no equal in his love of ridiculous pseudopopulist sentiments.)
No matter how you slice it, though, somebody needs to help John Ahern. A friend, a family member, someone ... please help him. Don't let him leave the house, it only leads to him saying and doing embarrassing things. Just give him a dish of hard candy and sit him down for some reruns of Matlock (or, better yet, Lassie!) and protect him from himself.

If I wasted time "researching" every kooky conspiracy claim brought forth, I would never have time to research things based in reality.
To believe that this is a conspiracy or that this process was under UN influence, then you would need to believe that individuals from agencies as diverse and at odds as Avista, CH2M Hill, the Lands Council, Out There Monthly and the Spokane Home Builders Association are in on it, together. That these groups, who don't always agree on everything, agree to allow the UN to dominate the process and then swoop in with their FEMA Concentration Camps or whatever nefarious plot for world domination they have.
I find that very hard to believe.
indeed this is true. And for a politician to farm out his phone calls to rhode island, yes I said rhode island. we recieved a voice mail by an automated bot from ahern and it came from rhode island. the least he could have done is spent some money in his own state.
